Programme

We are planning the practical sessions basis of a questionnaire to new and continuing members. In particular we want to structure these to be of most benefit to those just starting with a digital camera as well as for those with more experience of digital imaging.

Meeting are held at Chenderit School, Archery Road, Middleton Cheney at 7:30pm on Mondays. Unless stated otherwise.

January 2009

12   Walford and Round Print Competition – Set Subject
    Judge: John Childs. The set subjects are Water and Patterns, for the Walford and Round trophy.

19   Practical Evening – Painting with Light
    Valentina and Anatoli show how they make their amazing prints. Bring along camera, tripod and a torch to try out their methods.
26   Four Members on Four Photographers
    Four members give illustrated talks about a favourite photographer. The first of two sessions. And bring entries for the Photo Finish Impact Trophy, details are in the Handbook.

2   Impact Trophy Results and Practical Session
    Mike Carwithen presents the results of the Photo Finish Impact Trophy. There will also be a practical session.
9   Fine Art in Photography by Fiona Parsons
    What is a fine art photograph? An exploration of aims and approaches.
16   Printo and Practical
    Another Printo print review session, and practical work with Photoshop on the computers. Bring PDI entries for 23 February.

2   The Impact of Photographers – 1839 to the Present Day by Ray Jordan
    Ray’s illustrated talk will be not just about their photographic images but also how they fitted into society.
9   Jack Keen Cup
    Judge: Andrew Spackman. The trophy for those who have not been placed or commended in a club competition.
16   Audio Visual Evening
    A showing of members’ AV projects; 5 minute time limit.
23   Printo and the Banbury Photos Project
    Bring photos for a Printo discussion. And Alan Sargeant will present developments in the Banbury Photos Project. We are encouraging members to produce new images for the project.
