Banbury Camera Club held its fourth annual exhibition of members’ work in the Michael Heseltine Gallery. It is was open to the public in school hours from 16th October, and on the weekend of 20/21 October from 11am to 4pm each day. The gallery is part of the Visual Arts College at Chenderit School, Archery Road, Middleton Cheney.
There where nearly 100 pictures on show, featuring a wide cross section of styles and subject matter. All of the pictures, chosen buy the members who submitted them, were exhibited. You can see a sample of the pictures that were on show by following this link Exhibition Photos.
Support for Katharine House Hospice There were 99 framed and mounted prints on display, most of which were on sale, with Katharine House Hospice benefiting from each purchase. The club is pleased to be supporting the work of such an important local charity. In 2006 we raised over £350 for Katharine House through the sale of prints and donations. This year we sold 58 prints, with contributions from the collection tins and members donating their share of the pictures sales back to Katherine House, we have raised over £1,000. This money will be handed over to the Hospice's Charity at a special presentation in the new year
In Memory of Graham Wilton Graham Wilton, the Banbury journalist and photographer who died recently, was a great friend of Banbury Camera Club. He regularly judged competitions, particularly our John Saunders photojournalism trophy, supported our exhibitions and always communicated an enormous enthusiasm for photography and life. Graham was also a staunch supporter of Katharine House and it is therefore very appropriate that we remember Graham in this first exhibition after his death. Graham son attended the special open evening and was impressed by the images on display.
