Rosy Burke has again this year been asked to judge photographs for the 2011 Country
File calendar.
With other previous winners they judged 60,000 photos and gathered 3,000 for John Craven, Jo Brand and Chris Packham to pick their favourite 12 for the calendar pages. Last year the calendar raised £800,000 for Children in Need. It was great fun but an extremely long day with breaks for interviews and strolling the Custard Factory street like 'dragons'!
Just to let you know there may be a tiny bit of her on the telly on Sunday evening (19 Sept) which starts at 6.30 on BBC1.She went filming with the BBC in Birmingham a few weeks ago with 7 other past winners to help judge the BBC Countryfile Photo Competition as last year.

Jem said of his image that it is the one on the Hooky website - not seen at BCC as I felt it wasn't up to our usual standards! I may well enter it into something now, particularly if we have Philip Joyce to judge!

At the Horton Photographic Competition in May 2008, there were over 800 entries for their competition and five members of the club had entered. In each class, judged by the sponsor of that class (and so not a camera club judge-type person!), there was a first prize and two highly commended. Given the size and quality of the entry members did very well indeed. Sylvia Perks - first in Buses, Bikes and Boats; Alan Sergeant - highly commended in Flowers, Fungus and Trees; Tony Clear - highly commended in Christmas/New Year and John Holt - highly commended in Churches and Chapels.
